All Information about the use of donations.
 Separate Organization. We have funded an Austrian non-profit organization (German “Verein”) that collects donations separate from our student group on an individual bank account. These are the most important details of the non-profit:
Name: “europe-v-facebook.org - Verein zur Durchsetzung des Grundrechts auf Datenschutz”;
ZVR-Number 351391770 (see Austrian federal non-profit register: ZVR Online);
Members and board of the non-profit are members of our student group;
Limited Purpose. If you donate money to us this money will be transferred to the non-profit. According to our statutes the non-profit may use the money only for the “active legal enforcement of the right to data protection, as well as the necessary information, media relations and political education”. We are subject to the relevant Austrian laws that govern non-profits and have to keep records about any transaction. It would be illegal if we would use the donated money for another purpose.
Monitoring. According to the Austrian laws a controller has to ensure that all money is used according to our statutes after every financial year. We are planing get a lawyer, accountant or notary as a controller to guarantee that your money is not misused.
What we are using donations for. Currently invest our own money and time into the campaign. This means web pages, lectures or media relations are “on us” (the individual students) and not paid by the funds or the non-profit. If we get money in relation to the campaign (e.g. for lectures) we donate this money to the non-profit.
The donated money is currently saved and only used for costs in relation to the legal process (e.g. costs for lawyers, travel expenses, etc.). We are planing to start a platform that will disclose all transactions as far as possible to ensure full transparency.
